I am currently going through Sadhguru's Inner Ingeneering program. Hours of Sadhguru's lectures make me think about points I would never guess during the day, and changes my own ideas about life.
That's the most valuable thing to me in any experience. Not to repeat my mistakes, and improve my life. To understand the meaning, the principle, and if it fits my thinking, to apply it in my life. It helps to understand more, to get better results from actions, to develop in general.
Let me give you an example.
There is pain, there is suffering. Pain in this case can be replaced by any stimulus, a source of discomfort.
Let's put it this way - there is Irritant, and there is Suffering. Different definition.
Irritants in the modern world are very many, they are always exist. They cause reactions in us, first of all physiological reactions. Such as the production of hormones, unconditional reflexes are triggered, the nervous system reacts and the results of this reaction we feel in a rapid heartbeat, cold hands and feet, a lump in the throat, a feeling of compression in the chest, blurred in the head and so on. There isn't much you can do about it because the reaction to the stimulus is unconscious and happens in a few seconds.
And there's the other side of the coin, which is our reaction to the stimulus. Suffering. How much we worry, how much we think, what conclusions we get, how we apply them later in life. How much we allow ourselves to drown, to dissolve in the situation. How much time the stimulus leads you, but you are not leading the situation. And how long this time lasts.
The difference is that physically we react the way our body is programmed and able to. It's the mind that makes us suffer. It's possible to not suffer so much, really. But the more often we think about something particular, the more our brain hyperbolizes the significance of it. You can change perspective altogether and get away from the word Suffering. And then you will change the effect of the stimulus in your life. By doing so, you will begin to control the situation rather than being controlled by what spontaneously happened stuff. Not dissolving into unpleasantness, not changing your mood, not disturbing the plans you already had. And you will do without unintentional casualties.
"If you can't do anything about the world, change your attitude toward it." That's exactly what this topic is about. Regardless of the fact that we all think that it is impossible not to suffer pain, it turns out that it is possible. You just have to think about it and want to.
If you want to get rid of feelings of helplessness, anxiety, uncertainty, anger at the world, frustration with people, mood swings - this article will definitely help you. Read it again and think about where you automatically go into the depths of suffering and what ideas arise to change this trend. If you can't do it yourself - come for my coaching session. We will make your life qualitatively better together!
